Dr. Laurent Sandrin, is the Chairman of EchosensTM Board and the Chief Science & Technology Officer of EchosensTM, is primarily responsible for EchosensTM overall strategic planning. He co-founded EchosensTM Company in 2001 where he developed the FibroScan®. Dr. Laurent Sandrin graduated from ESPCI (Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie de la Ville de Paris) and Pierre et Marie Curie University in June 1996. During his Ph.D. between January 1998 and December 2000 (Laboratoire Ondes et Acoustique, now is Institut Langevin, Paris, France), he developed the first ultrafast ultrasound scanner for elastography and research on a technique which would later be called transient elastography. He received in March 2007 the Nouvel Economiste Award of Researcher of the Year and was nominated in January 2010 for the Marius Lavet Award of the Engineer—Inventor. He has published more than 20 papers in international peer reviewed journals and is an inventor of non-invasive diagnostic methods with more than 100 patents granted globally.
